Alex “Sandy” Zettlemoyer

Head Certified Athletic Trainer

Alexander “Sandy” Zettlemoyer is a 1987 alumi of Mechanicsburg. He went on to graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in Psychology in 1991.  He continued his education earning a degree in Athletic Training from West Chester University. Sandy worked as a clinical outreach certified athletic trainer for Bishop McDevitt and Central Dauphin East High Schools. In 1994, Sandy was hired as a full-time certified athletic trainer for Shippensburg Area School District. Sandy returned to his Alma Mater to become the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for Mechanicsburg Area School District in 1995.   In addition to the his work in the high school setting, Sandy has been involved with Keystone State Games and served on their Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. He also worked for the Harrisburg Heat Professional Indoor Soccer team and Central Penn Piranha Minor League Football team. Sandy is involved with District and State Championships as a Certified Athletic Trainer.  He is a frequent lecturer and author on the contemporary sports medicine topics. Currently, Sandy is President of the Central PA Athletic Trainers Association. Sandy is a Clinical Instructor in the nationally accredited Messiah College Athletic Training program.

Sandy and his wife, Michelle, reside in Upper Allen Township.  They have a son, Gaige and a daughter, Sydney.
